One of the major jobs facing the bride and groom to-be when they start planning their wedding is to order their wedding stationery. A few years ago this might just have meant buying some invitations locally and sending them off, but it has become more complicated. Let me take you through the stationery items that you might need.
The following are to be sent out in advance of the wedding.
Save the Date cards - These should be sent out as soon as you have a wedding date planned, so that guests can keep the day free. Think carefully before sending them out, as you wouldn't want to send one to someone who later didn't receive an invitation.
Invitations - Send these out to your guests in plenty of time, preferably a few months before the big day. These may be split into daytime and evening invitations, if you are having some entertainment for your friends after the reception.
